Chapter 10 Summary

Introduction to Data no the Internet

In this module, I learned about how data is collected, organized, and used on the internet, It explained that data can come in different forms, like numbers, or text, and must be validated to ensure accuracy. I learned about terms such as metadata, structured and unstructured data, and personally identifiable information. The module also covered computational thinking, which talked about using problem solving tools like breaking things down into smaller parts and making step-by-step plans. I learned that data can be stored and organized in different ways, like lists or trees, to make it easier to work with. It also explained how social media sites collect and use people’s data, and how settings like “Do Not Track” can help keep your info safe. Overall, it showed why it’s important to understand how data works and how it’s used online.
