Chapter 7 Summary

Wireless Networking

Reading this module about wireless security made me realize how risky Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices can be. Even though I rarely use public Wi-Fi, the idea that someone could set up a hotspot to steal data is pretty unsettling. The “evil twin” attack stood out to me because it’s something I could actually see happening in real life. It also surprised me to learn that leaving Bluetooth on all the time can make my phone vulnerable too. I will start being more careful turning off auto-connect and avoiding logging into important accounts when I'm on a public network. What I took away from this chapter is that even small things like updating your phone or changing default passwords, can go a long way in keeping me and my information safe.
